“The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” follows title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakensheild. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers. Ab 10. Mai 2012 im Kino

Im Jahr 1752 stechen Joshua und Naomi Collins mit ihrem kleinen Sohn Barnabas im englischen Liverpool in See, um in Amerika ein neues Leben zu beginnen. Doch selbst auf den Weiten des Ozeans gelingt es ihnen nicht, dem geheimnisvollen Fluch der Familie zu entkommen.

Zwei Jahrzehnte später: Barnabas (Johnny Depp) erobert die Welt — oder doch zumindest das Städtchen Collinsport/Maine. Als Herr von Collinwood Manor verfügt Barnabas über Reichtum und Macht … bis der unverbesserliche Frauenheld den gravierenden Fehler begeht, Angelique Bouchards (Eva Green) Herz zu brechen.

Angelique ist eine Hexe im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes und beschert ihm ein Schicksal, das schlimmer ist als der Tod: Sie verwandelt ihn in einen Vampir, um ihn dann lebendig zu begraben.

Zwei Jahrhunderte später wird Barnabas durch Zufall aus seiner Gruft befreit und entdeckt die völlig veränderte Welt des Jahres 1972. Als er nach Collinwood Manor zurückkehrt, findet er nur noch die Ruinen des einst prachtvollen Anwesens. Den zerrütteten Nachfahren der Collins-Familie geht es kaum besser — alle hüten sie ihre finsteren Geheimnisse. Die Matriarchin Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Michelle Pfeiffer) hat die Psychiaterin Dr. Julia Hoffman (Helena Bonham Carter) ins Haus geholt, um ihre Familienprobleme in den Griff zu bekommen.

In der Villa wohnen außerdem Elizabeths nichtsnutziger Bruder Roger Collins (Jonny Lee Miller), ihre aufmüpfige halbwüchsige Tochter Carolyn Stoddard (Chloe Moretz) und Rogers frühreifer zehnjähriger Sohn David Collins (Gulliver McGrath). Doch nicht nur die Familie ist von Geheimnissen umwoben — auch die Angestellten haben einiges zu verbergen: Hausverwalter Willie Loomis (Jackie Earle Haley) und Davids neue Nanny Victoria Winters (Bella Heathcote).

This version of the cartoon includes the original scratch soundtrack. At the point this was posted, the cartoon animation was essentially complete, and the video was sent to Morsound in Minneapolis for audio sweetening.

The cartoon is based on a funny comparison of the traditional way to measure roofs and the modern way. Animation by Don Mangan, Jeff Gingrich, Artie Romero, Tim Romero and Corrina Gingrich at ARG! Cartoon Animation studio in Colorado Springs, June, 2009. The software used to create the visuals in the cartoon was approximately 90% Flash and 10% Blender, an open source 3D software suite.
